Christopher Robin and I are thrilled to announce the launch of The Memoirist Quarterly, a new literary journal brought to you by The Memoirist.
The Quarterly will be published four times a year and feature an exclusive limited number of memoirs, personal essays, and original artwork and photography. A free version of the publication will be available online at https://thememoiristquarterly.com with print copies for sale at a yet-to-be-determined price.
The goal of The Memoirist Quarterly is to spotlight exceptional creative non-fiction work in a sophisticated literary format. We aim to bring attention to some of the great writers online whose talent deserves a broader audience.
Writers and artists featured in the issue will receive monetary compensation for their contributions. Long-form writers will receive $50.00 upon publication; artists and photographers will receive $25.00.
At this point, we are anticipating an August 12th release date for our debut issue.
Our Call for Submissions Window Is Now Open
Guidelines, Terms and Conditions
Target Release Date: August 12, 2023
Submissions Deadline: July 2, 2023 at 11:59 pm Pacific Time
While we prefer original material, we will consider previously published stories
Submissions accepted are creative non-fiction (essays and memoirs), essays about writing memoir, artwork, and photography
Essays and memoirs should roughly be between 700–2500 words
Submissions are limited to one piece only
Writers and artists will be compensated upon release of the issue
Accepted long-form written pieces will be paid $50.00; Accepted photography and artwork, will be paid $25.00
Cost of the print journal is TBD
Please do not submit a featured photo (stock); we will be choosing photos to accompany your piece.
We WILL accept any personal photos you may have for your story
By submitting your piece to our call for submissions, you are giving The Memoirist Quarterly permission to publish and use your name/work for marketing purposes
